The larger red dot on the left boob is the last biopsy. The first biopsy scar has grown light and isn't visible. The lumpectomy was almost a "connect the dots" between the two biopsy scars.

I had heard that the needle loc was blindingly painful - or could be. I actually cancelled the surgery at one place because they wouldn't guarantee that they'd numb it before doing this procedure. (When I asked the gal who told me it wasn't painful if she'd ever had it done, her answer was, "Well....no.") Not to be snippy, but I wish they wouldn't do that. My mom's oncology nurse was the one who was straight up with me and told me that if it wasn't numbed, it felt like "your nipple was getting blown off." So, I made sure they were going to numb it, and they did. ASK before you let them do the procedure.

I actually thought I had a tan when I woke up. The up side was that my booby was swollen. Looked nice...I liked the new size. It was home from here to rest.

The doc had originally told me the incision would be two to three inches. When I woke up, he said he was able to go smaller and still get the piece he needed...which was 2" by 2.5" by 1"...no small matter for smaller boobies! But he was right, it filled in and didn't leave a gaping hole. My left boob was always a bit smaller than the right, and I did notice a size difference afterward when it came to bras. It wasn't that noticeable just looking at them.

Okay, I couldn't wait...and the tape was itching terribly. So, I peeked. Looks pretty good. TIP: Leaving the tape on longer can result in a finer scar.

All the tape is off. Not too bad, I think. I'm pleased with the looks of it, even though the results turned out to be cancer.
